Isotopes Team of the Game 2017
Eclipse Baseball Club recently took a trip to the ball park as the Isotopes’ Team of the Game. April 7th, 2017 was a beautiful Friday night. It was sunny and warm with a slight breeze that cooled. We arrived as a team at the third base entrance as the excitement amongst the players started to grow.
As we entered the park the players were filled with enthusiasm and very quickly made their way to the left field pavilion checking out the souvenir and food stands getting ready for the night as they passed. Batting practice had already begun and Home Run balls rained down on us as we enjoyed our hot dog dinner. Many players were lucky enough to catch balls during BP and warm up. Players and families alike enjoyed the hot dog and ice cream buffet!
After dinner was finished the players and coaches were ushered onto the field to meet players and get autographs signed. The energy on the field was high as the Isotopes prepared for their second game of the season. Eclipse players were armed official Isotopes balls, pens and sharpies determined to get all of their favorite Isotopes’ players signatures. The Isotopes players were very accommodating going down the line signing each player’s ball. The meet and greet with players was definitely the highlight of our boys night.
Next players made their way onto the field for the National Anthem standing in their favorite position next to their professional counter-parts. As you can imagine with any 8-9 year old boy, our players were more then thrilled to be standing on the infield grass in front of a stadium of cheering fans. After a few fist bumps with the Umpires we made our way to our seats.
We sat in right field just passed first base, a prime spot for catching foul balls. Good thing some of our boys brought their gloves because several more players left with souvenir foul balls caught throughout the game.
The game was an exciting match up against the Salt Lake Bees that ultimately ended in a 5-2 Isotopes loss. Our boys didn’t seem to mind as they thoroughly enjoyed the ball park’s snacks and early season atmosphere. We had a great time and closed out the night with several boys running the bases after the game.
Eclipse Baseball Club would like to thank the entire staff of the Isotopes for an amazing night that our boys will remember for a life time!
